Microsoft’s core apps-Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook-have been growing and changing for almost forty years, and they’re stuffed with features that can sometimes make them seem heavy and unwieldy compared to relative newcomers like Apple’s Pages and Numbers. Corel WordPerfect Office is a desktop-only suite. Softmaker Office, like Microsoft 365, offers both desktop and mobile apps, but doesn’t offer online apps. LibreOffice doesn’t offer mobile apps except through a third-party version called Collabora Office. ![]() Google Workspace is the closest rival to Microsoft 365, but its apps are online-only, unless you set up your documents in advance so you can open them in a browser when you’re not online. The open-source LibreOffice and SoftMaker Office offer dedicated apps for that platform. There's nothing to stop you from using the web-based version of any office suite on Linux. Microsoft still does not offer versions of Office apps for Linux platforms-hopefully, the release of Edge for Linux is a sign Microsoft will more broadly support those systems. The right office suite for you may very well depend on the platforms and devices you use. On an Apple Silicon (M1) Mac, Microsoft’s apps run at breathtaking speed, a tribute to Apple’s hardware and Microsoft’s up-to-date engineering. On Intel machines, Microsoft’s apps sometimes slow down when I’m impatient to get to work. Microsoft’s macOS version runs natively on both old-school Intel Macs and the latest Apple Silicon (M1) Macs. You can use Microsoft 365 on the web or download apps for Windows, macOS, Android, and iOS devices. Business Premium users get mobile-device management tools and the Azure Information Protection service. Windows-only apps Publisher, for creating layouts too complicated for Word, and Access, for building databases, are part of the Business packages, too. All Business plans add Teams, SharePoint, and Microsoft Exchange cloud services over the Personal plans. Microsoft 365 Business plans start at $5 per user per month and the top-end Business Premium plan costs $20 per user per month. If you opt for this edition, you don't get automatic updates or any OneDrive storage. You can purchase a standalone version of Office Home & Student 2021 (classic versions of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and OneNote) for a one-time cost of $149.99. The premium version of the Microsoft Family app is included in this subscription tier, too. At the other end of the pricing scale, the $99.99-per-year Microsoft 365 Family tier provides access to the same apps and supports up to six users. You also get Sway for interactive reports and presentations, forms for creating surveys and quizzes, and Microsoft's To Do app. Subscription prices start at $69.99 per year for Microsoft 365 Personal, which includes access to Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, Outlook, and Skype apps for one user on up to five devices. Microsoft 365 is an Editors' Choice document-editing suite. Microsoft’s apps aren’t perfect, and a few features are awkward and unwieldy, but you’ll need strong reasons to choose anything else. Microsoft 365 has all collaborative features found in cloud-only suites like Google Workspace, plus all the benefits of disk-based apps: speed, security, and the ability to work offline. It runs almost everywhere, with full-featured editions for Windows and macOS, surprisingly powerful apps for iOS and Android, and slick web-based versions. Microsoft 365-the current name for the apps and services formerly known as Office 365-is the behemoth of office suites and the one every competitor tries to match. ![]() ![]()

Special thanks to my Islander friend for teaching me PEI fighting words, which is possibly the best Youtube video I’ve ever seen and the perfect documentation of a PEI accent. In my four years in Nova Scotia, my accent changed and my vocabulary widened. Living around Canada, especially in the Maritimes, I learned even more fascinating Canadian terms that I wish were more widely known. It’s only when you leave the country and try to convince your British friends that “kitty-corner” is a real term or your American friends beg you to say “out and about” again that you really notice it. They change from province to province and city to city without much notice. We use the terms so simply that people barely register them. A transloader is a third-party logistics provider (3PL), like GlobeCon, specializing in managing the combination of new-school technology and old-school logistics infrastructure that is required to ship goods from destination to destination via multiple shipping methods. Managing all the logistics associated with employing multiple shipping methods is a full-time job as it is – one far exceeding the scope and resources of a manufacturer or wholesaler. ![]() If after considering these factors results the conclusion is that more than one shipping method is required, a transloader comes into the picture. Good value depreciation over time, i.e.This means weighing several different logistics considerations, including: After an order is placed – either by a retailer or, increasingly due to the growing power of ecommerce, a consumer – the logistics provider must look at the destination and identify what shipping method best serves operational imperatives. The goods generally originate from someplace like a manufacturing center or warehouse. This can encompass a variety of different logistical modes of transport in various combinations. Transloading is commonly defined as the process of transporting goods from one location to another via more than one means of transportation. To start, let’s define the basic concept of transloading. But even for many logistics managers, understanding exactly what is a transloader and why they are essential to maintaining operations can be a challenge. With globalization in full swing, transloading has become the industry standard solution – offering unparalleled efficiency, smooth and cost-effective order fulfillment. ![]() It’s not a huge number, but they cover a very wide range of styles – and these presets are also organised into categories such as Modern, Classic and Vintage, to help you find them more easily. The straight arm cable pushdown is pretty straightforward. Keep your back as straight as possible during this exercise, or else other muscles will take over to compensate for the poor form. After bringing the bar to your waist, slowly begin returning to the starting position. With arms straight, use your upper-body strength to bring the bar down and in toward the body (basically, bring your arms to your sides).Get into the starting position: Facing the cable machine, palms face down gripping the bar, arms shoulder-width apart, feet the same distance apart, and slightly leaning inward.Install the bar attachment on the cable machine and adjust the cable height to well-above your head.If you need the support of a weightlifting belt like this, then you’re going too heavy. So choose a lighter weight than you would for the regular pulldown. And we mean that in the sense that it’s more difficult. One thing worth pointing out before knocking out the straight arm cable pushdown is that it’s very different from the lat pulldown. So it can help you to spice up your current routine or bust through plateaus on the lat pulldown. It’s different than the exercises you’re already doing. That includes your lats (upper back), forearms, pectorals (chest), triceps, and biceps. Upper-Body Focus: The thing about this exercise is that you’re hitting nearly every muscle group in the upper body.Cable machine exercises are all about a consistent amount of resistance throughout for max growth. Constant Resistance: Dumbbell pullovers are convenient, but your lats’ tension dies down once you start lowering the dumbbells toward your torso. This extra work will help to build serious back muscle and strength. With the straight arm variety, you’ll nearly double how far you push your lats. Range of Motion: The ROM on the lat pulldown stops once the bar reaches your collarbone.Straight arm cable pushdowns isolate the lats to give you that coveted V-shape. Direct Focus on the Lats: Regular lat pulldowns are great for upper-body mass, but the lats’ emphasis isn’t supreme-the biceps and middle back get far too involved.Good question, and here are your answers: ![]() ![]() Now you might be wondering, “Why should I do a straight arm cable pushdown when I can just stick to lat pulldowns or dumbbell pullovers?” Method 1: Installing CLion as a Snap Package This article explains two methods of installing CLion IDE on Ubuntu 20.04.Ĭhoose the installation method that is most appropriate for your environment. $ sudo apt update & sudo apt install openjdk-11-jdk In this tutorial I will install OpenJDK 11 and the installation is pretty straightforward.įirst update the package index and then Install the OpenJDK 11 package by typing the following command. Since SharpRDP currently only supports keystrokes, by default this will open up a Run dialog and enter a specified command.
